sharing is caring

Apologies for my extended absence from the blog.  I've been active elsewhere but this space has been neglected.  I endeavor to pay more attention to this space.

In lieu of a handmade by me post...

A handmade share...

Although my darling daughter does use this particular item regularly {enough to actually empty multiple containers}, I'm not sure that I will ever truly use this recipe but I still think it is worthy of sharing.

three pinterest finds

Finally getting around to sharing three Pinterest finds of the week.

Maxi skirts are forever fashionable and this DIY looks super easy!  Follow along with the tutorial on Sheena's blog.

How cute would this be as a Thanksgiving or Christmas break fun activity?  Make your own winter slippers using this awesome visual.

Do you have a collection of tshirts that you know longer wear but can't bear to throw away?  Why not transform them into a colorful scarf?

made me giggle

I rarely check Pinterest from anything other than my iPhone, but today when I logged in THIS image captured my full attention.  It reminded me of my husband and how he cannot stand how some of his Facebook friends post vague status updates that are a blatant cry for attention but when asked about it, they always say "I don't want to talk about it" and his thought is then "Why the heck did ya post about it on Facebook?" Haha.

day six

I admit that today was not a very handmade day.  Today was all about relaxing at home in the company of my darling husband and amazing teenage daughter.  I did surf Pinterest a bit and stumbled across a couple of recipes that I want to tuck away for Thanksgiving road trips that require me to bring a dessert.

The recipe for NutterButter Balls that I found calls for three ingredients: 1 package of Nutter Butter Cookies, 8 ounce package of cream cheese (room temperature), and 1 package of chocolate chips (melted).

I am going to guess that these are just as tasty as the Oreo Truffles that I've made in the past, yes - the ones that my darling husband insists on calling Brown Balls.

The recipe for the Thanksgiving Sweet Acorn appetizer is just as simple with four ingredients: donut holes, pretzel sticks, Nutella or canned frosting, and chocolate sprinkles.

The acorns would make a fabulous sweet treat with breakfast, lunch, dinner, or anytime in the fall.

I saved both screenshots on my iphone and didn't save the links.  I know, bad blogger.

pinterest revisited

I get email updates from Living Locurto and I simply had to share this particular one.

Amy eloquently states one of my previously mentioned cons with regard to Pinterest. You no longer have control over your photos. Shy of watermarking every single image you post online...

I enjoy surfing the site. It has easily replaced Facebook in my top two favorite apps (#1 is Instagram).

Pinning

After thinking it over, I've come to the conclusion that it doesn't really matter if Etsy has the "pin it" button or not. Pictures will be pinned because people will find a way. There will always be people in this world who will make "knock offs" and there will always be someone who has a better idea or a different way of doing the same or similar thing.

There is a market for just about everything under the sun. People will make their own stuff or buy from whom they want to buy. No matter anything else. Just as there are some who will only shop at Target versus Walmart, local/handmade versus the big box stores and vice versa.

I watermark all images I post to etsy and I will watermark all images I post to blogs from this day forward. Having my name on my images is enough for me at the moment though what is mine is mine until I say it isn't.

Happy Monday y'all.

Not sure about the change

*republished with labels

While surfing Facebook earlier this evening, I happened upon a friend's post regarding Etsy adding Pinterest pinning links to all Etsy listings.

I enjoy surfing Pinterest but not sure that I want my listing images pinned quite so easily. It seems like Etsy is jumping on the Pinterest bandwagon.

Due in part to the above information, I've spent a good portion of the evening searching out web designers and WOW!!!

Loads to think about and to consider.
