about me

{the person behind lil girl shop}

My name is Jennifer Wood.  I am a mom, wife, daughter, sister, friend, and so much more.  When I am not blogging, I am soaking up as much time as I can with my family, sewing bits of fabric together, helping with homework, trying to decide what to fix for supper, and attempting to keep the dog from peeing in the house.

random information: We each have our struggles and one of ours includes infertility.  I like to run and I like sweets.

about lil girl shop

lil girl shop is the culmination of a lifetime love of arts and crafts. I've collected fabric for decades and enjoy creating something new from already owned pieces.

In the Summer of 2008, I finally started to work creating items with the intent of making a living from something I truly enjoy doing. I pulled no longer worn clothes from my closet and some fabric from my stash. My first finished pieces were pin cushions. One day, I drew a pattern on one of my mom's old knee x-rays... Nadalazydaisy bags were born. I cut fabric pieces into rectangles and eventually made my first patchwork shopping bag AND extra large overnight bag.

There was no turning back. I knew what I wanted to do. What I wanted to be when I grew up. I wanted to make beautiful, functional items one at a time. I wanted to share these creations with others. I wanted this to be how I contributed to both society and to my family's income.

My product offerings have expanded but the core concept is the same.

My name is Jen Wood and lil girl shop has handmade crafty goodness available for sale.

I belong to an amazing network of creative women - The Hen House Coop.
